So the Legend of Korra finale completely neglected the most important character of them all
that’s right
Tahno.
I hope there is an episode in season two where the gang somehow meets up with his family and they all discover he comes from a long line of swamp benders.
Pop: “We real proud of our boy, makin’ his way in th’ big city.”
Mom: “You kin even hear about ‘im on th’ ray-dee-oh!”
Now that the complainers are less outnumbered than we used to be, I thought I’d make my own post about how Korra is just turning out to be a disappointing show. Episode 9 aired most recently. Let me just list the first 9 episodes of Avatar: the Last Airbender for comparison:
Think back to those episodes. Every last one of them was worth watching in its own right. They were full of diverse, engaging plots that gave the main story room to grow while (and this is important) always reinforcing the heroes’ central goal, which was clear and consistent from the beginning. They also introduced colorful but believable characters who actually mattered - both for their own sake, and for showing us new sides of the main protagonists.
The Legend of Korra does none of those things. Objectives are scattered and confusingly brief, and no one seems able to have relationships with more than 2 people at a time.
Quick messy sketch of Amon/Noatok/Noatak (not sure of the spelling). First time drawing Amon, so might look a bit off, but I felt compelled to draw this after watching the scene showing the truth about his past. I can’t help but feel like his fate is quite tragic; after all, he was manipulated and shaped to be how he is thanks to Yakone… Amon will always be one of my favourite characters.
